some explanation is needed I think
:
1)where do this idea come from ?
well, I'm kendoka and once I was talking with one of my senpai who should train us during our sensei's absence. And it's how the idea came : he wouldn't be nice with us because we are too tense (he was kind actually). In kendo we fight each other and hit each other (but we wear armor to protect ourself) so to tenderize us he would hit stronger (he didn't of course).
2)why Itachi ?
I would like to have a senpai like that for sure my training wouldn't be very effective especially if he takes off his kendogi (the jacket) but ...
Anyway, I'm sure he did kendo once
[that's the excuse]
3) the title ?
we never say "no" to a sensei or a senpai
... especially one like this one moreover if he holds a bokuto (wooden sword) ><

As a Kendoka myself (more or less... my style's more Kenjutsu than Kendo) I completely agree with you. I don't know why I've never thought of cosplaying Itachi while all suited up in my Bogu.
And your work needs no excuse. We've seen the prowess most Uchiha have with swords. Sasuke used one. Itachi used one during his time in the ANBU. It's no stretch to say they've studied some form of kenjutsu (and I say kenjutsu because it's more combat-oriented than Kendo).
